Turmeric Chai
A warm and nourishing beverage for those cold winter nights. Turmeric has powerful anti-inflammatory properties, while the antioxidant-rich blend of spices aid in digestion and overall wellbeing.
Ingredients
1 cup plant-based milk of choice
1/4-1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp fresh ginger, grated
1/2 stick cinnamon
1/4 tsp peppercorn
3 cardamom pods
2 cloves
1/4 tsp fennel seeds
Add the cinnamon, peppercorn, cardamom, cloves and fennel to a mortar and pestle and crush the spices to release their aroma.
Add the crushed spices, turmeric and ginger to a pot and pour over the milk. Heat on the stovetop at low-medium heat and allow to simmer for 2-3 mins.
Once hot, pour the mixture into a mug and sip mindfully.
